With the news that San Japan is throwing a formal ball on opening night we are having a special sale. Order a garment and email us that you want it for the San Japan Masquerade Ball and we will take 20% off the price of a listed item. This will also apply to a commissioned work, assuming we can assure it getting made in time for you. This sale will be applicable at our table at San Japan on Friday July 9th.

Just announcing we have now made some major changes to the website to include the inventory we have available for sale. We shall be continuing to add to the "Items for Sale" page over time.
Incidentally we had an excellent time with the aGLIFF Oscar party event and we were proud to help sponsor the event along with Outrageous Outfits and other wonderful costumers from the Austin Costuming Guild
Pics can be seen at the Oscar Party Gallery on Robyn's Roost.
Further our staff also got to participate back in April in the Hill Country AIDs Ride of Austin, the 2nd largest AIDs ride in the country. The ride raised over $600,000 to help fund health services for people lviing with HIV/AIDs. We got the privilege to be part of a pit crew to service the needs and moral of our heroic riders. The motto of the Ride was "Spandex Saves" so we dressed in a Superhero theme to show our support.
Highlights can be seen at these pages of the Ride Gallery
We also teamed up with Outrageous Oufits for Free Comic Book Day as we got to show off lots of Superhero ware for the patrons at tribe Comics
Highlights are at these pages
Currently we are going like gangbusters for San Japan. We are very excited since we just discovered the convention will be including a Masked Ball with formal asian attire. Hopefully the ball will serve as extra incentive for attendees to come to our table

Well the craziness never seems to end for us here. Just when we think we have a chance to rest and recover then we're onto more exciting projects.
First of all Designs by Talon had a wonderful time at Ikkicon. We made respectable sales and had numerous patrons who responded to our merchandise. It was gratifying to see some of our favorite pieces being fawned over and sold. Our first convention was a really great experience. We learned a lot, networked with some great vendors, got to see the amazing work of Outland Armour and became members of the Fork Universe Empire. A side effect of it all is that we are committed to the San Japan Convention July 9th to 11th in San Antonio TX.
Ushicon was also enjoyable. Though a much smaller anime event, we had the opportunity to still connect with some great people. We along with the folks from Outrageous Outfits gave a successful panel on costuming. It makes us feel good that we could provide useful insight on costuming to people.
Images from both Ikkicon and Ushicon can be seen at Robyn's Roost.
Also very exciting for us is the start of the Austin Costumers Guild. The Austin area has many talented costumers of broad variety yet amazingly, most of us are unaware of each other and disconnected. We have just started this Yahoo group to solve this problem. Our goal is to bring different costumers together to support each other and share our skills and learn from each other. We welcome and encourage all people who are interested to join our group regardless of skill level and experience. Again the goal is to connect with each to enhance our costuming community through knowledge and activities.
In fact the first event to come will be Oscar Night at the Driskell. On March 7th, we are working with the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival (aGLIFF) on their annual charity event. Proceeds will go to support aGLIFF, its programs with Out Youth, and will also benefit the Paul Kirby Emergency Fund at AIDS Services of Austin. The party will celebrate the Oscars with a costume contest were attendees are encouraged to come as their favorite film character. Fabulous prizes will be awarded to the top costumes.
